We've gone through a lot of different activities by now, however there is much more. You would have to embed privacy into every action when communicating with the rest world as it's typically the price you'd have to pay in order to access some service.
Step 1: Review all sites that you have created accounts at, and if sites offer account deletion, delete those that you are no longer using. For sites that won't allow you to delete information you can always change to to something else to avoid exposing your real data.
Step 2: Whenever possible leave only required information while signing up for a new site, even if field is required that's not necessarily to provide your real data if you are not comfortable doing so. Example when service asking you for your birth day to validate your age it's not necessarily to provide your full birth date.
Step 3: When accessing sites and site displays notification asking you to accept cookies, do not automatically accept all, accept only necessary if that's an option.
Step 4: Utilize incognito mode as much as possible, however there is another way. For example Firefox offers profiles where all the data are separate, so you can create profiles for everyday browsing, then you can create profile for social networks, another profile to pay your bills another profile for shopping purposes. That way you would be able to limit what other sites know about you through cross site cookies. For example separating your shopping experience and your social network experience would help you avoid situation where social network knows about your shopping preferences, the'd probably learn those through other means, but won't able through third-party cookies.
Step 5: Use different passwords for different sites. That's not a privacy per se, but good all around technique that would help you. Additionally store your passwords in password manager, local one is better than online.
Step 6: Take "divide and conquer" principle further throughout your entire digital life. For example if you use smartphone with operations system from one vendor, do not use their search or email service so on and so forth. Review your entire digital life and divide and conquer.
Step 7: Avoid storing sensitive information on the device or browser and avoid any types of personalization offered by any service.
Step 8: Register throw avail email address and use it every time you forced to give up your email address, setup auto deletion on that email since you know that none of your friends would write you there.
Step 9: Be defensive against your information all the time, and go through all of the exercises on this advent calendar on a regular basis. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Take action and keep your privacy in check.
