Browsers and their friends.

Browsers are our window to the Internet, and unfortunately you can't operate without internet today. Becuase of that browser profiling and fingerpringing are tactics that advertisers use to distinguish you from a myriad of other visitors and track your actions. Remember there is great difference between anonimization and privacy: anonymity is where people see what you do, but don't know who you are and privacy is people know who you are, but can't see what you do. So with that in mind let's protect your privacy through set of exercises for browsers.

Step 1: What we call divide and conquer, we want to limit what sites know about our actions. All browsers these days have incognito or private mode and using it will help what other sites know about your actions.

Step 2: If you have not installed uBlock Origin. go ahead and do it. There are also few other extensions that do similar things like PrivacyBadger by EFF.

Step 3: Install HTTPS Everywhere by EFF extension. That will help you stay alert of things that are passed unencrypted over the Internet, remember what is unencrypted can be easily read by 3rd parties, like your ISP for example.

Step 4: If you are not using PiHole or similar system to secure your DNS switch to providers like Cloudflare who at least claims that they are not selling DNS queries unlike any ISP for whom that's another stream of income. Then configure DNS over HTTPS to encrypt your queries in this article.

Step 5: Turn off autofill for forms, auto save for passwords and credit cards in your browser. While it is tempting for convenience, tradeoffs are not worth it. Additionally go over all available settings and turn off any tracking, personalization or any browser reporting to HQ typically labeled like "help improve ...".
